iOS VoiceOver reads incorrect control type text

An icon control with an image is configured with a tool tip text, Go back. At runtime, when this is tested on a mobile browser on iOS with VoiceOver enabled, iOS reads the control type in addition to the visible text, that is, it reads Go back image, instead of Go back. The experience is the same even if the control is disabled.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure an icon control with an image and tool tip, Go Back
  2. Enable VoiceOver on an iOS device and test

Root Cause

A third-party product issue. VoiceOver calls out the control type along with the tooltip which can be demonstrated with a simple HTML webpage outside of Pega.

Pega application works as per design. It is VoiceOver's feature to refer the control type along with the tooltip.
