Issue while passing Property to Activity from the Icon control

User application is upgraded from PRPC 6.2 SP2 to Pega 7.1.7 and it uses the deprecated Icon control. On the 'Do action' field on General tab of the control, a Property is passed as parameter to Activity that should be executed on click.

In PRPC 6.2 SP2 it works correctly but in Pega 7.1.7, instead of the value of the Property, property name itself is getting passed to the parameter of the DoAction Activity.

Steps to Reproduce

On the 'Do action' field on General tab of the deprecated Icon control, pass a Property as parameter to Activity.

Root Cause

In GenerateButton RUF, Pega is not handling any special case for Property References.

In GenerateButton RUF, Pega has introduced a check for Property References to populate Property value at run-time instead of Property name as literal value. This change is shipped via HFix-23199.
