java.lang.stackoverflow error when creating a REST Connector

Summary



While trying to create a REST connector on a elasticsearch REST API provider, you test the REST API which returns a correct JSON response.

However, the connector creation fails before creating the different objects (for example: interface classes, data objects and data page) with an error message in the log file.


Error Messages



java.lang.stackoverflow 

Steps to Reproduce



1. Start Wizard, enter URL and perform all steps by saving responses. 
2. Rule generation fails with stack overflow exceptions.


Root Cause



This issue is due to circular references when generating Data Models rules and is observed during Data Transform generation.


Resolution



This issue is resolved by HFix-21114. This hotfix is applicable only on Pega 7.1.7 and not an earlier version.

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in Pega 7.1.8.
