Lack access required error when creating WO from Service SOAP

SA-337

Summary

In Pega 7.1.5, when building a non-authenticating, stateless SOAP service to create a work object (WO), it fails with the error mentioned below. From the activity where the web service is invoked, it calls out of the box Activity rule "svcAddWorkObject".

Error Messages

In the log you will notice this error:
Error: You lack access required to execute RULE-OBJ-ACTIVITY WORK- PYLAUNCHINTERNALCASEFLOW #20140127T185807.865 GMT.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a Service SOAP from wizard which calls an activity.
2. In this activity call "svcAddWorkObject" to create a work object.
3. Use a web service client like SoapUI to call this web service
4. The service fails due to the error described here.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. By default, all service activities that have "require authentication?" enabled, can be invoked only from authenticated requestors.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by hotfix item HFix-9743 and is also resolved in Pega 7.1.6.
