Layout Refresh on Value Change not work with Property Empty

SA-84840

Summary

Layout Refresh on Value Change does not work with Property Empty.
Layout refresh on Value Change works when changed from 'Yes' to 'No' or from 'No' to 'Yes'. However, the Refresh is not initiated when the first change is from Empty to 'Yes' or 'No'.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure two layout sections (section A and section B) on a screen.
  2. In section A, create a layout containing a Text field.
  3. Set the Refresh condition on the layout to when the property of the Text field changes. The initial value of the property is null.
  4. In section B, change the value of the property using a radio button. The Text field does not display the changed value of the property.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules:
During a Change event, a blur is initiated during the event and validationType is still available. As a result, the 'Value cannot be empty' error message is attached to the UI control (radio buttons). Hence, the Change tracker event is halted.

Resolution

This feature is implemented in Pega Platform 8.2.3.
