Localization of UI does not work as expected on mobile

Summary



User is trying to localize their application on mobile (including offline) for Spanish locale (es_ES). They have provided translations for fields and controls used on the UI.

When user views the application on a desktop browser as a user of es_ES locale, the screen is localized as expected.

However when user repeat the same scenario on a mobile device, and do not see all fields or controls localized.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Setup the locale on an end user operator id to es_ES for localization in Spanish.
  2. Using a desktop browser, login as the end user, create a case and notice the areas on the screen that are localized.
    1. Case Description
    2. Stage name
    3. Flow action name
    4. UI Controls  (Paragraph,Label,Formatted Test,Checkbox,Radio buttons,Dropdown,Button,Link)
  3. Repeat the above scenario on a custom mobile app, and notice that all the above areas are not localized. Only paragraph and formatted text UI controls are localized.


Root Cause



This issue was determined to be a product enhancement request. In Pega 7.2.1, only localization for paragraph and formatted text UI control is supported.

Resolution



An enhancement request, FDBK-17192, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
