SUMMARY:

The current masking feature provided in the configuration document removes the field and is not displayed to the client representative. 

Is there any option to show some characters in place of that value which is masked rather than removing it.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules. 

Resolution

The current masking feature works this way, when user masks a read only elements(p, span, div, h1-h6 and so on) on the presenter page, during co-browse these read only elements are not displayed on the viewer page(representative).
​When user masks an input element on the presenter page, asterisks are displayed on viewer page.

​ The co-browse engine is built to, not display anything to representative for read only elements(no option to show some characters) and for input elements show only the asterisks symbol there is no configuration to change this symbol.
