MasterCard RC 4834, CC 2, missing question



Chargeback Amount can be greater than Posted Amount in case of Mastercard reason code (RC) 4834 condition code (CC) 2.

However, users see the ancillary questions screen and is not able to proceed with the validation since it is missing the question “Is the Chargeback for the full amount of the original transaction?”

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a case with reason code (RC) 4834 condition code (CC) 2.
  2. Observe that the question "Is the Chargeback for the full amount of the original transaction?" is missing.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error.


Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

With the latest MasterCard compliance update (16.1), this question and all associated data was moved to Condition Code 3.
