Missing UI elements for VM users

Summary
When accessing the application through VMWare and after logging in, UI elements (for example, New navigation button) do not display on the main portal. This occurs in the Internet Explore 11 browser.

Steps to Reproduce
Log in to the application through VMWare.
Root Cause
A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.
ActiveX objects were disabled due to security settings. Therefore, the ActiveX based XML parser that was used to render menus, stopped functioning.
Resolution
Perform the following local-change in the Internet Explorer 11 browser:
Enable 'Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting'.
