Modal dialog submitted despite error messages

SA-98367

Summary

Post upgrade to Pega Platform 8.2.1, modal dialog is submitted even when the Required field error message is present.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade Pega Platform 7.1.9 to Pega Platform 8.2.1.
  2. Configure a button with action as 'Launch Action'.
  3. Configure the Launch Action as a modal dialog.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules.
The pyModalTemplate rule of Pega Platform 7.1.9 is saved in the application ruleset. This rule is modified in Pega Platform 8.2.1.
The modal dialog button control of the ModalButton action, defaults to the doModalAction which submits the modal dialog even when error messgaes are present. In Pega Platform 8.2.1, the button control has changed to pzModalButton, which does not submit the modal dialog when error messages are present.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Open the pyModalTemplate.
  2. Change the Submit button control to pzModalButton.
