MS Office SilverLight Error in PEGA 7.1.6 with Office 2013

Summary



On upgrading MS Office 2010 to 2013 in Pega 7.1.6, unable to open, edit and save a Word document by clicking the Create Merge Document functionality. The pzWordMergeSL and WordMergeSL are the out of the box sections used for this functionality.


Error Messages



SilverLight Control ERROR in 'sGetWordMacroDotPath': Microsoft Word version '15.0' is not supported.



Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade from MS Office 2010 to 2013
  2. Open MS Office 2013 32-bit on Internet Explorer 11
  3. Click Create Merge Document functionality in a Word document

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules

Resolution



Perform the following steps to resolve the issue:
  1. Apply HFix-34129
  2. Install the latest Silverlight pre-requisite
