Multiple asterisks(*) for required fields in Accessibility view

SA-2717

Summary

User can see multiple asterisk(*) symbols for the required fields in the accessibility view in the grid layouts.

Error Messages

No error message , only multiple asterix(*) symbols

Steps to Reproduce

When user create a new work case , on the first screen there is a grid layout and for the required field, instead on just one
asterisk(*) there are many asterisks.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a backwards compatibility and it is a defect in Pegasystem's code/rules.
There are 2 issues when using a repeat grid with required fields in accessibility mode:

    1. 3 asterisks instead of one. The problem was with workform_accessibility.css. This was resolved by changing the background image url to "transparent".

    2. "REQUIRED" text was missing. This issue was not due to compatibility mode and is noticed only in IE8 Standards mode also, which is even thouse not recommended it is officially supported by Pega 7. To fix this issue need to add an accessibility check to generate the span (containing REQUIRED text) in the html stream.

Resolution

Local change:
In the layout add below note in a sections in accessibility view.

"Note: Fields marked with Asterisk(*) symbol are required fields."

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in the release Pega 7.1.7
