Navigation tool bar displays blank intermittently



The navigation tool bar displays blank intermittently.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a menu in the Navigation portal
  2. Check Cache Sub menu items in the properties of the menu
  3. Launch the portal
  4. Keep it idle for 15 or 20 minutes until the session times out
  5. Log in to the portal. The Sidebar does not display

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.
When the session times out, the cache related to that operator is cleared from the browser. On the next log in, the application attempts to get the data from the cache which is not available. 


Perform the following local-change:  

Check the 'Defer load sub menu' option on the Menu properties or uncheck the 'Cache sub menu items on client' option.
