Node unreachable due to high load
SA-65203
Summary
Node is unreachable due to high load.
Error Messages
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "PRPC"."MYORDERS_EOM_FSET"."INSTALL_ID" (actual: 11, maximum: 10)
Steps to Reproduce
Unknown
Root Cause
Multiple Doctrine Query Language (DQL) exceptions are encountered when the below query is executed:
UPDATE PRPC.MYORDERS_EOM_FSET SET SITE_INSTALL=?,INSTALL_ID=? WHERE ORDER_NUMBER=? AND FULFILLMENT_SET_NUMBER=?
These multiple failed queries did not allow connections to return to the JDBC connection pool. This exhausted the pool and caused the application server to stop.
Resolution
Here's the explanation for the reported behavior:
An attempt is made to insert or update a column with a value that is wider than the destination column width. The name of the column is provided along with the actual width of the value and the maximum allowed width of the column. The widths are reported in characters if the character length semantics are in effect for the column. Else, the widths are reported in bytes.
Action:
- Verify the column type to ensure if it checks the data length in bytes or the actual length of data.
- Verify the source and destination column data types and make the destination column wider.
- Verify if some other non-ASCII characters must be saved in the column. In this case, check the data validation in the column in the database.
