Not able to test connection with SQL server database

Summary



The user has to connect to an external database, and is presently on Oracle DB and wanted to connect to SQL DB. The user imported the jar file at Server side and peformed the required settings but after that user is observing timeout exceptions in WAS logs. If the jar file is removed, the user is seeing classnotfound exception.


Error Messages



with JNDI Name: java:comp/env/eis/PRAdapterConnectionFactory, java.lang.ClassCastException: java.net.URL incompatible with javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
java.lang.ClassCastException: java.net.URL incompatible with javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Map a table using External Database class mapping.
  2. Execute SQL-save on the particualr external table class property.

Resolution



Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior: 

 Kindly mention the below configuration in the prconfig.xml file and try to save the configuration.
 
<env name="database/databases/PegaRULES/dataSource" value="‘jdbc/DBName"/>
