Not all push notifications are displayed in iOS

SA-36853

Summary

All the push notifications are not displayed in iOS after connecting to the Internet.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Disable Wifi
  2. Send multiple push notifications
  3. Enable Wifi

Root Cause

This behavior is as per design. Apple Push Notification (APN) Service includes a default Quality of Service (QoS) component that performs a store-and-forward function. If APNs attempts to deliver a notification but the device is offline, the QoS stores the notification. It retains only one notification per application on a device: the last notification received from a provider for that application. When the offline device later reconnects, the QoS forwards the stored notification to the device.

Resolution

Use Local notification object to achieve this requirement. For more information, refer https://pdn.pega.com/sites/pdn.pega.com/files/mobileclient/7220/api/client_api/container_object_notifications_local_notification.html
