NPE occurs while executing BIX through command line

After migrating from Pega 7.1.8 to Pega 7.4, error occurs while executing Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) through the command line. Data is not extracted to the required XML despite providing -I as a standalone optional parameter.

Error Messages

Getting the below error in PEGA BIX logs:

[main] [  ] [  ] (internal.access.ExtractImpl) ERROR   - null
    at com.pega.pegarules.session.internal.PRSessionProviderImpl.borrowRequestor( ~[prprivate.jar:?]

    at [prprivate.jar:?]
    at [prprivate.jar:?]
    at [prprivate.jar:?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install BIX in Pega 7.4.
  2. Create an Extract rule where the output is extracted as XML.
  3. Update prconfig.xml and
  4. Use -I as a standalone optional parameter in bix.xml.
  5. Run bix.bat.

Root Cause

The issue was due to the Null Pointer Exception that occurred in the class when -I is passed as a standalone parameter (that is, without passing the username and password).

Applied HFix-49801.
