Null pointer exception when generating rules using Connect-REST

Summary



When using the REST integration wizard to upload a sample response, the wizard does not generate response rules. The below error appears on the screen.


Error Messages



"Generation process has been canceled and all created records have been removed
Cancelling rule generation, Failed to process the sample XML instances: null"


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a REST connector using the Connector Wizard.
  2. Give any URL for the REST service and click Next.
  3. Click Next again.
  4. In Select Methods tab, select method as POST and click Configure.
  5. In request tab of configuration menu, upload an XML file in the 'Sample Requests To Make Request Data Model'.

Click OK and Next.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution



Apply HFix-29554.
