Obfuscate does not work for columns on report definition

SA-88904

Summary

For a report definition column, a When condition is set with column format as 'Obfuscate'. The When rule is initiated; however, the masking of the column does not occur.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a report definition.
  2. Define a page with an embedded property (with a different class from that of the report definition) in the column.
  3. In the column, mention the column format as 'Obfuscate' and apply a When rule to it.
  4. Create the When rule in the class as that of the report definition.

Root Cause

The When rule is created in both the classes (that is, the report definition class and the class in which the page mentioned in the report definition is defined).
At runtime, as the SQL searches for the When rule in the class for that specific column, the functionality does not work correctly.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Create the When rule in the class in which the page is defined.
