OnClick of Save Button Application gives Requirefiled validation

SA-29165

Summary

In Application, user is using Save Functionality. But gives require filed validation in one screen where as it is working fine in another screen.

Error Messages

Require filed validation message

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a Text field with condition as required.
2. Save the page without giving required fields.
3. Observe application is displaying a Message "Require field validation message".

Root Cause

An issue in understanding of the functionality.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

The application is behaving as expected because application will not allow a user to save and close the page if there are any validation or required elements.

The configuration for Save of the page on click event should show us the parameter  "close after save" with a check box.

However the check box was missing but recreating the click event for Save again has shown us the required check box parameter as an option and after option is checked application was showing the error message properly if the required fields are not entered.

The application was upgraded from PRPC 6.x to Pega 7.x where in the later version of PRPC, the checkbox parameter was not shown when save is configured on click event.
