Out-Of-The-Box Save button not working properly

SA-8394

Summary

The Out-Of-The-Box (OOTB) Save Button does not work properly. Some times after clicking on save button the data already filled completely vanishes. This issue is intermittent and occurs in production environment only.

Error Messages

Not Applicable. Data completely vanishes.

Steps to Reproduce

It is an intermittent issue and cannot be reproduced at will.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules.

Work-.Action is deprecated section. This issue is caused when the value of the pzFromFrame becomes equal to the ActionFrame value in certain flows. This occurs intermittently.

Resolution

There are two ways to resolve this behaviour:

Use the Work-.pyActionArea which is an auto generated code instead of Work-.Action
[OR]
Create a new JS file and include the following code inside it:

var orig;
if(!orig)
orig = pega.u.d.doSave;
pega.u.d.doSave = function(bSaveAndContinue,event){
var oSafeURL = SafeURL_createFromURL(pega.u.d.url);
if(oSafeURL.get("pzFromFrame") == "ActionFrame")
{
oSafeURL.put("pzFromFrame","");
}
document.forms[0].setAttribute("action",oSafeURL.toURL());
orig.call(this,bSaveAndContinue,event);
};

Note: Include the JS file only for the harness containing the Work-.Action section .
