Page property referenced from a data page does not set values

SA-65153

Summary

Page property values are not set when the page property is referenced from a data page. This occurs post update to Pega 7.4.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update Pega 7.2.1 to Pega 7.4.
  2. Configure the Page property to reference a Read-only data page. Data transform is invoked to set the page property values

Root Cause

The data page is configured with Editable Mode set as Read-only. This prevents the setting of an autocomplete property value. It is recommended not to modify the autopopulate property which refers to a read-only data page. Since the change of value in the autopopulate property is propagated to the data page, read-only exceptions occur at runtime.

In Pega 7.2.1, the application allowed the user to set the value in the autopopulate property to avoid internal issues with the Clipboard Viewer/Tracer.
However, in Pega 7.4, the implementation is modified and setting the autopopulate property value is skipped for read-only data pages.

Resolution

Perform either of the following local-changes in the data page:
  • Set the data page Editable mode as 'Editable'.
  • Set data access of the data page as 'Copy from data page' and the Editable mode as 'Read-only'.
