Page rendering issues in IE11 on Windows Server 2012 R2

The developer is currently doing a test of accessing their application in a machine with Windows Server 2012 R2. The screens are not loading correctly when accessing via IE11. The tab shows "Assignment" instead of the work object ID.

The section which usually extends with the content, only displays half or a third of the screen.

The dynamic select fields don't load the data needed to display the options. Refer above screenshot.

No issues are encountered when using their local machines with IE11 which use Windows 7 Operating System.

To load the tab correctly, the user needs to click another tab.

Error Messages

No error message on UI and in logs. Just display is incorrect.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Access the application in a machine with Windows Server 2012 R2.
  2. Open Work object from user's dashboard.
  3. Observe: the work object opened in the tab shows the text ‘Assignment’ instead of Case ID on the Windows 2012 Server using IE11. The work object details are not expanded on the page and dropdown does not contain the values.

Root Cause

Compatibility issue on rendering the application in IE11. The application when accessed with IE11 uses document mode as 5.

Adding application hostname to compatibility view list resolved the issue.
