Parent window becomes unresponsive on closing the child window

SA-80169

Summary

On closing the child window, the parent window becomes unresponsive.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a repeating grid and call a local action from it.
  2. In the new pop up, create a button which calls another pop up from it.
  3. In the third pop up, create a button which calls back the pop up created in Step 2.
  4. In this pop up, click any button. Actions are not triggered.

Root Cause

Pega.u.d.activeGrid is available when actions are performed on the grid. This behavior has not changed since PRPC 6.3.
Pega.u.d.activeGrid is undefined after closing the first modal dialog that was launched from the grid. For this use case, the pega.u.d.activeGrid (temporary grid object) was not maintained, and after the modal dialog was closed it was not reset using the temporary grid object.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Define the following script block in the UserWorkForm.

    <style>
      .dynamic-icon-error-div{
       display:block !important;
      }
    </style>

    <script>
      function setActiveGrid(){
        pega.u.d.tmpActiveGrid =  pega.u.d.activeGrid;
      }

      function getActiveGrid(){
        pega.u.d.activeGrid = pega.u.d.tmpActiveGrid;
        delete pega.u.d.tmpActiveGrid;
      }
    </script>

  2. Invoke the function in the script from the buttons configured in the  popup.
