PDF generation of a report takes more time

Summary
PDF generation of a report with 1000 lines takes an hour and an error occurs on the screen. When user exports the results of a report definition to a PDF, the application takes more time to generate the file though the number of rows is less. The export times out on exporting more than 1500 rows. Some times it leaves a non responsive requester (last input which displays as pzRDExportWrapper) that slows down the whole application and causes the thread dumps. It takes 4 minutes to export 200 rows (44 columns).
Error Messages
Times out if run from UI. No error if run in background
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the DrillDownFor sample report definition
- Run the report from the Actions menu
- Export the PDF with 1000 rows. Export takes 4 minutes
Root Cause
A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
Resolution
Apply HFix-51340.
Alternatively, filter the stylesheets (jquery ui and ui inspector) which are not required for printing in the custom activity GeneratePDFStream.
