Summary

RSS feed on the Developer Portal in Pega 7.1.6 and the PDN forums link (URL) are not working. The URL for the RSS news feed is: http://pdn.pega.com/rss/designerstudio - in the pyRSSConnectService.  
The PDN forums URL is: https://pdn.pega.com/forums/about-the-pdn-forums?=

Error Messages

"Unable to connect to the PDN at this time."

Steps to Reproduce

1. Log into Pega.
2. Navigate to the Developer Portal. The PDN News feeds does not display, and the link to the forums do not work.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The PDN forum URL changed. The PDN RSS news feed was blocked by a site specific firewall and missed proxy information. 

Resolution

1. Apply HFix-22485.
2. Set the following Java Virtual Machine (JVM) arguments:

• http.proxyHost 
• http.proxyPort
• http.proxyUser
• http.proxyPassword

3. Make an exception in the local firewall to allow the PDN RSS news feed content to correctly come through.
