Pega 7 migratton-CASS Application-Sections are not working.

SA-11950

Summary

User has migrated their application from PRPC 5.4 to Pega 7.1.7, after migration when the user tries to save or save as a section, an error is thrown:

The revalidate and save of the section rules also failing. And the HTML rules which are migrated from the prpc 5.4 also not rendered properly in the portals.

Error Messages

content of stream definition: Line 25, Column 20: Ignoring excess content in directive:"pageListProp=tools.getProperty(".Brances");
                                        ClipboardProperty pagePropInList = pageListProp.getPropertyValue(Integer.parseInt(tools.getParamValue("strIndexInList")));
                                        ClipboardProperty prevActiveProp = ((StreamBuilderToolKit)tools).putActive(pagePropInList);
                                        tools.putParamValue("strIndexInList", pageListProp.size());
                                        "
                                        Line 71, Column 224: Ignoring excess content in directive: "0px solid white !important;"

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a section in PRPC 5.4 and export the rule to a RAP.
2. Import the RAP into Pega 7.1.7 and check out the rule. Then try to do save or save as of the section.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules.The support for html is very less in the Pega 7.1.7 and there is no option to change the "Generate For" to JSP in the upgraded sections. This occurs because of the migration of the application is directly from PRPC 5.x to Pega 7.x without upgrading to PRPC 6.x in between.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by HFix-22843. The hot fix adds  the "Generate For" option for each and every sections.
