Pega 7.1.7 Update Wizard fails: Encountered an error when saving

Summary



The application is upgraded from PRPC 6.1 SP2 to Pega 7.1.7. Unable to run Update Existing Applications wizard from the developer portal.

Error Messages



Encountered an error when saving instance "RULE-OBJ-FLOW ABC-TEMP-FOLLOWUPXDAYS FOLLOWUPXDAYS #20110802T064745.745 GMT" of class Rule-Obj-Flow
com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlTransactionRollbackException: The current transaction has been rolled back because of a deadlock or timeout.  Reason code "68".. SQLCODE=-911, SQLSTATE=40001, DRIVER=3.64.133


Steps to Reproduce



Run Update Wizard by navigating to Designer Studio > System > Upgrade > Update Existing Applications.

Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the PRPC operating environment.​

Resolution



Perform the following local-change:
Run the wizard as part of the upgrade or the command line utility program prpcUtils.

Set upgrade.runUpdateWizard property to true in the setupDatabase.properties file to run it as part of the upgrade. The Update Wizard is automatically run regardless of this setting for the earlier version upgrades.

To run it from prpcUtils, set the required properties within prpcUtils.properties file to run this utility script and then run prpcUtils.bat (or ./prpcUtils.sh) with the parameter runUpdateWizard.

For example, prpcUtils.bat runUpdateWizard
