Pega 7.2.1 instance takes very long to startup



The user is on Pega 7.2.1 and reported problem related to very long server startup time.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Stop and Start the Pega 7.2.1 application server instance.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment is the root cause of the issue. The application server hosting Pega application and database sever having Pega database instance were present in data centers located at different locations. During the server startup the application server communicates with the database server frequently and time spent over the network in this case was causing the delay generating lot of Pega0042 alerts.


Recommended the user to host both application server running Pega instance and Pega database sever within the same data center.
