Pega application does not start correctly when run on Oracle

Summary



Pega application does not start correctly when run on Oracle database and errors are generated in the logs.


Error Messages



com.pega.pegarules.pub.database.DatabaseException: ORA-00376: file 16 cannot be read at this time
ORA-01111: name for data file 16 is unknown - rename to correct file
ORA-01110: data file 16: '/home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/dbs/MISSING00016'



Steps to Reproduce



Start the application when it is run on Oracle database.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.

The named Oracle datafile is on standby or cannot be created. This occurs when a database is copied incorrectly or when database failover is performed incorrectly.


Resolution



Make the following change to the operating environment:

In Oracle, create and map the datafile.
