Pega OOTB rule not accessible after upgrade from 6.3 to 7.2



When trying to access an activity 'PZUPDATERVTOOLBAR' from 'Rule-Obj-Report-Definition', the user is getting an error. Though the activity 'PZUPDATERVTOOLBAR' is available in the 'Pega-Reporting:06-03-01'

NOTE: This is after upgrade of the application from 6.3 to 7.2

Error Messages

Failed to find a 'RULE-OBJ-ACTIVITY' with the name 'PZUPDATERVTOOLBAR' that applies to 'Rule-Obj-Report-Definition'. There were 1 rules with this name in the rulebase, but none matched this request. The 1 rules named 'PZUPDATERVTOOLBAR' defined in the rulebase are:
1 related to applies-to class 'Rule-Obj-Report-Definition', but were defined in rulesets which are not in your rulesetlist: 'Pega-Reporting:06-03-01'.

Tried to open a report definition

Root Cause

The root cause of this issue is that the activity 'PZUPDATERVTOOLBAR' is neither available nor needed in Pega V7.2. But it is still used in one of the activity created by the user to run the report.


Use the OOTB activity 'runReport' to run the report or modify the activity created by the user according to the OOTB activity 'runReport'.
