Pega:Chart JSP tag does not work with report definition in 7.1.5

Summary
The Pega 7.1.5 help says the below for "JSP tag — chart" - "Use the chart tag to present an interactive chart defined by a summary-type Report Definition rule or by a summary view rule, that has Interactive as the Chart Output Type value on the Chart tab".
According to this description "pega:chart" should support "Report Definition" rule as well. But in reality it always looks for a "Summary View" rule and throws error while including an Report Definition using the syntax.

Try to specify a report definition in the Chart JSP tag configuration
Root Cause
The root cause of this problem is an error/omission in product documentation. Report definitions are not supported.
Resolution
This issue is scheduled to be resolved in Pega 7.1.8.
