Performance degrades with Java class in Class Loader

SA-51889

Summary

Performance degrades while running the application with a Java class in Pega Class Loader.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

Run a JVM to call an External REST service with a Java class in Pega Class Loader.

Root Cause

A third-party product issue. The default size of the JIT cache (250m) is not sufficient to hold all the required classes. Hence, after the cache is full, the remaining loaded classes will be executed as interpreted code and without 'Compiled Code'.

Resolution

Make the following change to the operating environment:

Increase the JVM setting for -Xcodecachetotal to a size that allows for caching of all classes.
