Portal relaunch shows last active tab instead of Dashboard

User has upgraded from Pega 7.1.9 to Pega 7.3, and found there is a change in behavior for Case Worker portal.

Use Case:

User is launching their case worker portal, creating a case and while the case is open as a active tab in the portal, they are closing the portal by clicking on browser close button instead of logging of from Pega. After this when they re-launch the portal, user can see the case that was previously open as an active tab (in previous occasion before closing browser) to be still open as an active tab.

For this use case in Pega 7.1.9, re-launching of case worker portal didn't show any previous active tab but in Pega 7.3 launching of the same portal shows the previous active tab.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch Case Worker Portal.
  2. Create a case.
  3. While the case is still open as an active tab, close the browser window without logging off from Pega.
  4. Relaunch the Case Worker Portal and we can still the case to be open as an active tab. This was not happening in Pega 7.1.9.

Root Cause

The reported use case is not an issue in Pega Platform. This was also the expected behavior in 7.1.9. There was a difference in behavior is Case Worker portal between these two versions due to a check related to the DSS "session/ha/crash/EnableUserNotification" which was present in 7.1.9 and have been fixed for last Active Tab in 7.3.

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

Re-launching of worker or case manager portal should re-open the last active tab if the previous session has not been logged off. This is the default behavior in Pega 7.3 but it in Pega 7.1.9, if the Dynamic System Settings entry "session/ha/crash/EnableUserNotification" is set to false then re-launching of portal will not open the last active tab.

This check has been removed in Pega 7.3
