Post-processing on collapse in grid does not work

SA-8784

Summary

Grid Post actions do not run when a grid row collapses using the expand pane Edit mode.
Edits made in the expanded pane are lost when the row is collapsed and the post actions do not run.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a grid using the expand pane edit mode.
  2. Check the "Hide the default Action Section buttons?" option in the flow action.
  3. Expand a row and enter some details.
  4. Collapse the row.
You can notice that post actions are not exectuted.

Root Cause

The functionality that causes post processing to occur, is dependent on the buttons being present in the expanded row (pyGridRowDetails section).

In this case the flow action is configured to use the "Hide the default Action Section buttons?” option.
This setting is not compatible with flow actions used in the expand pane. The buttons are not included on the screen and this stops the functionality from working.

Resolution

This issue is resolved using the following local-change options:

1.Uncheck the "Hide the default Action Section buttons?” option.
2. If the requirment is to hide the buttons in the expanded pane, a solution to this is to update the pyGridRowDetails section, that contains these buttons and add the inline style visibility:hidden to the buttons.  This hides the buttons from view but they still exist to allow the submission functionality to work when you move focus between rows.
Ensure that the Hide the default Action Section buttons? option on the flow action is not checked.
