Print event does not show correct harness

SA-36935

Summary

After upgrading from PRPC 6 to Pega 7.1.9, when you click the Print icon on a service item, an image of the work history is staged for printing rather than the expected work object.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in as the customer support representative (CSR).
  2. Click an available service item from the worklist.
  3. Click the Print icon.
  4. Observe that the system shows the work history instead of the main work object.

Root Cause

The custom code that was migrated from PRPC 6 was not compatible with the Pe4ga-provided Pega 7 code. In PRPC 6, the Print icon called the Work-.PrintWork activity with a parameter called PrintHarness. However, after the upgrade to Pega 7, the system uses the Pega-provided Print OnClick event. The Pega 7 Print OnClick event does not take any parameters.

Resolution

If you want to use the same harness in Pega 7 that was used in your PRPC 6 application, do not call the Print OnClick event.
Instead, call the Work-.PrintWork activity directly and pass the older harness in for the PrintHarness parameter.
