Problems applying changes to database object Issue in HFix-28044

SA-31159

Summary

When trying to install the HFix-28044, using the steps mentioned on this fix pack, user is getting an exception.

Error Message

There are problems applying changes to the database object: pca_work
SQL: ALTER TABLE PEGA7BFS.pca_work ADD Date VARCHAR2 (256)
Error: Database-General Problem executing SQL to update database schema 904 42000 ORA-00904: : invalid identifier DatabaseException caused by prior exception: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00904: : invalid identifier | SQL Code: 904 | SQL State: 42000

Root Cause

The root cause of the reported behavior is the DATE column user is trying to create into the table 'pca_work'.

In Oracle the DATE is a keyword so when executing the query 'SQL: ALTER TABLE PEGA7BFS.pca_work ADD Date VARCHAR2 (256)', it will throw this error.

The columns inserted through the DDL in this hotfix, are not needed. There are many unnecessary columns packaged in this hotfix.

One of them is DATE column. So removed those unnecessary columns and re-packaged the hotfix again which does not contain DATE column.

Resolution

Apply HFix-28044.
