PUIC: Modal window is not displayed on clicking Submit

Summary
Modal window is not displayed. On click of Submit button, you call a java script which references a process action method. Instead of calling the process action, a flow action is submiited.

Steps to Reproduce
1. Click on the Submit button through which you call a java script which in turn references a process action method.
2. Observe that instead of calling process action, flow action is submiited.
3. Modal window is not displayed.
Root Cause
You have configured a custom control which would eventually launch a modal window. It is working fine in the PRPC 6.x version but not in Pega 7.1.7.
Resolution
This issue is resolved through the following Local-change:
You are using a click function on the dom element with an event to call the modal dialog where the button type is SUBMIT. Change this to button and it works fine.
