Summary

The pxCreateTopCase activity does not create a work object(WO).

The application creates an interaction case (work object) from another work object and routes it to a work basket where an agent opens it using get most urgent work.

The pxCreateTopCase activity is used to create the case and set additional data to that case and route it to a work basket.

After upgrading to Pega 7.2.1, the pyTopCasePage is created dynamically and it is removed at end of the activity.

Hence, the process cannot identify the work object id to set additional values or route it to different work basket. 

There is a parameter called PropertyForNewCaseID, but it does not have the value of the work object at the end of the activity.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Use the pxCreateTopCase activity to create the case and set additional data to that case and route it to a work basket.
2. Observe that it is difficult to identify the work object id to set additional values or route it to different work basket because the page pyTopCasePage is removed at end of the activity.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution

Apply HFix-28639 to resolve the issue.
