pyMemo property limited to 250 char length in Pega 7.2

Summary



User has a pyMemo property in the application to store a user note when a case is opened.
If the user enters more than 250 characters and performs Submit, then an error message is displayed on the page. The pyMemo property cannot be saved to a local ruleset because it is final.


Error Messages



"Memo:"your_memo_that_is_longer_than_250_chars" is too long, maximum length allowed is 250"


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open pyMemo property from class Link- and ruleset PegaFS.
  2. Try to save the property in a local ruleset in order to change the maximum length.
  3. Get an error because of a final conflict.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. pyMemo property has maximum size set to 250 but is final.

Resolution


 

Apply HFix-28236 which makes @baseclass!pymemo available in Pega 7.2.
