Query in disabling sort during processing

SA-6242

Summary

User has bulk processing functionality in their portal. They have taken the bulk check in rule functionality approach to implement their requirement where once they click on button a processing icon is shown at row level and then success message once the processing is complete. Same continue till all the items in queue are processed.

They are able to successfully implement the same. Now similar to the out-of-the-box (OOTB) implementation they need to disable sort functionality during processing. Since if they sort in between of the processing, entire functionality is affected. When they checked OOTB functionality sorting is disabled during processing. They need to disable sort functionality in a similar way.

Resolution

To disable sorting when processing the work object, it's needed to disable the section which contains the grid. The same way OOTB does while doing bulk actions. To achieve this, a free form layout can be added where it's needed to specify an ID to the layout. Then i's required to include the repeat grid in the above created layout.

While performing bulk processing of work object, it's needed to pick the ID specified for the free form layout, disable the DOM element when the processing starts and enable it as the processing completes.
