RAP import fails due to external database connection

SA-26109

Summary

When importing a Rule-Admin-Product (RAP) with a reference to an external database, the import fails if that external database is not available to Pega.

Error Messages

Status Value: Problem encountered when getting a database connection: code: 0 SQLState: 08001 Message:
No suitable driver found for jdbc:oracle:thin:@servername:1542:RULES

Steps to Reproduce

Import a RAP with a reference to an external Database.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.  The JDBC driver is not automatically loaded if it is in the application server lib directory or uploaded to Pega.

Resolution

Add the appropriate JDBC driver for the database referenced in the RAP to the endorsed directory of the application server and restart Pega.

This ensures the driver is pre-loaded on application startup.
