Reference in correspondence template does not display in MS word

Summary

When referencing the property in the correspondence template to generate Microsoft word document, the following references type does not populate actual values in the final Word document:

{pega:reference CorrTemplate.Info.LastName}
{pega:reference CorrTemplate.Info.address1}

This occurs after Pega application upgrade.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a correspondence template
Refer properties in the template
Generate a Word document embedding the correspondence template

Root Cause

A software use or operation error. From Pega 7 onwards, ActiveX controls are decommissioned and are replaced by Microsoft Silver light. Hence, users using the same application after upgrade are required to execute steps which were missed.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

1. Clear the browser cache by selecting all the below options:
- Preserve Favorites website data
- Temporary Internet files and website files
- Cookies and website data
- History
- Download History
- Form data
- Passwords
- Tracking Protection, ActiveX Filtering and Do Not Track
