Refresh Section Activity field throws incorrect validation error
SA-20829
Summary
When you add a Refresh Section action to a control in a repeat grid and select an activity in the action configuration panel, the rule picker suggests activity rules from the grid's class, but shows a validation error when any of these activities are selected.
Error Messages
** [Activity] doesn’t exist or is not a valid entry for this ruleset and its prerequisites
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a section in a work- class.
- Add a repeat grid to the section sourced from a data- class.
- Add a control with a Refresh this Section action in its action set.
- Attempt to select any of the suggested activity rules in the Refresh this Section's Activity rule field.
Root Cause
A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules causes the rule picker to suggest rules based on the grid's source class.
While this is correct for other actions in a grid context, an Activity used in combination with a Section Refresh action should be in the Section's inheritance path.
Resolution
Apply HFix-26123 and recreate the action set on the impacted controls.
This issue can also be resolved by manually entering the name of the Activity rule that is in the Section's inheritance path, disregarding the rules suggested by the field.
