Rename Class option on SOAP Integration Wizard is not available

SA-7952

Summary

While importing the WSDL using 'Create SOAP Integration Wizard', if the class name has more than 64 characters, the wizard does not give an option to rename the class names.
Instead, the wizard automatically truncates the class name and appends a number to the class name.

In previous releases up to PRPC 6.3 version, the wizard allows the developer to rename the class or rule names if the name exceeds 64 characters.

Error Messages

No error message, the system is appending numbers at the end of the class names rather than providing an option to rename the class names as part of the wizard.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a sample WSDL containing elements with long name, for example: Service_Recurring_Transaction_Details.
2. Import the WSDL using 'Create SOAP Integration Wizard' from Designer portal.
3. Select the WSDL URL and continue to select the available operations.
4. Click 'Next' to provide the Service name and Base class ( for example, provide base class name as 'ABC-Int-PaymentService-Card-Txn').

The wizard does not provide rename class options although the class names exceeds 64 characters limit.

Root Cause

The "Create SOAP Integration Wizard" is a light-weight wizard and does not provide all the options that the "Connector and MetaData Wizard" did.

Resolution

Use the existing  "Connector and MetaData Wizard" to resolve the issue.
A class name (pxObjClass property) for a class name length can be up to 56 characters.
System-created classes such as History- classes maximum limit can be upto 64 characters long.
It is best practice to choose the base class name sensibly to avoid class name truncation.
