Repeat grid header gaining focus when using tab key

SA-39130

Summary

The repeat grid header is getting highlighted (gaining focus), when a user is navigating using the tab key. This happens despite having no actions configured on the header.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create section with a repeat grid.
2. Add text to column header.
2. Navigate into grid using tab key.

Root Cause

This functionality is the current default behavior when the user is navigating a repeat grid using the tab key.

This explicit focus behavior was added to support accessibility requirements.

Resolution

Tab focus is not explicitly needed on a grid header unless there are actionable events (sorting, filtering, and so on).

There are alternative methods to read and interact with a grid as an accessible user which negate the need for this tab focus.

Product management is reviewing this behavior for future releases of Pega.
Product Enhancment Request FDBK-10858 has been created for this purpose.
