Report does not export complete text of a column to Excel



Post upgrade to Pega Platform 8.3, the report does not export the complete text of a column to Excel.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade Pega Platform 7.2 to Pega Platform 8.3.
  2. Execute the report.
  3. Click the Export to Excel option.
  4. Create a custom control such that it displays some letters and the rest of the text as dots.
  5. Assign the control to a property.
  6. Input the propety to one of the columns in the report.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules.
While exporting reports to Excel, the custom controls are overridden by the out-of-the-box controls in the earlier versions. As an upgrade, the application is designed such that the format of the report which displays at runtime, also displays in Excel.


Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

Custom controls are not overridden in the latest versions of the Pega application when the report is exported to Excel.
