Restrict Access for Tracer tool in designer studio

SA-32825

Summary

After applying HFIX-24796, users noticed that the Tracer button is also visible along with the clipboard button in Designer Studio portal footer. After review of the section rule” pzStudioFooter(Final Rule)” one can see the same “Clipboardviewer” privilege is used for both Tracer and clipboard visible when conditions. As this is a production environment, access to tracer is restricted.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create new AccessRole
  2. Add AccessClass as @baseClass
  3. Add Clipboardviewer privilege and level as 5 for read instances and read rules.
  4. Save the access role and add it into operator's access group.
  5. Log off and Login to Designer Studio.
  6. Observe the Tracer tool is available.

Root Cause

This is the expected behavior. Only Tracer tool cannot be hidden separately. The value 0 for the ClipboardViewer privilege will make both ClipboardViewer and Tracer tool disabled.

Resolution

This is deemed to be an enhancement request, FDBK-18105
