SA-37619

Summary

Error Messages

java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Steps to Reproduce

Not Applicable

Root Cause

A third-party product issue.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

The "Connection reset" message is issued when an attempt to read data from an HTTP socket fails with an ECONNRESET error (Linux and Solaris) or WSAECONNRESET (Windows).

The typical cause is the socket being closed on the remote side of the connection without a proper shutdown message.

Investigate why sockets are being improperly closed on the remote connection side to better understand how to correct this issue.
