Script stored in fields runs when object loads



User stores a script in a few major fields (First Name and Last Name for Contacts and Leads, Subject for Tasks). However, the script runs when the object loads.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in as a SA user
  2. Create a contact
  3. Insert an arbitrary script for First Name and Last Name
  4. Click Submit. Script fires on review and subsequent load. In this case, two scripts fire. One sourced from the First name and another from the Last Name
  5. Create a Lead associated with this Contact
  6. Insert scripts for First Name and Last Name
  7. Click Submit. Scripts in the First Name and Last Name run. The scripts for the associated contacts run twice
  8. Create a task for the Lead
  9. Insert a new script in the Subject 
  10. Click Submit. Script for the Subject and Lead runs  


Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. 


Apply HFix-57011.
